Mr. Robert Berger is currently serves as Project Director of Project TRUST, the Los Angeles County Tobacco Control and Prevention Program’s Communities Putting Prevention to Work grant from the U.S. Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He also serves as the Marketing and Media Consultant for the Tobacco Education and Material Lab (TEAM Lab). He has served as a consultant with California’s Center for Tobacco Policy and Organizing and chaired the messaging committee of its annual Tobacco Information & Education Days.
Mr. Berger began working in the field of tobacco prevention in the late 1980s as a volunteer with the communications team at the American Lung Association. He has lead successful policy campaigns for smoke-free campuses, parks, beaches, outdoor dining areas, entryways and other public places. Along with his involvement in the field of tobacco prevention, Mr. Berger has also been involved with the nationwide “Every Woman Counts” breast and cervical cancer social marketing campaign. He served as Project Director for the campaign for 13 years.
Robert received a B.S. in marketing from New York University and an M.S. in journalism from Northwestern.
